The Portland Vase, perhaps from Rome, Italy, ca. 5-25 CE. The general subject of the vase is love and marriage with a mythological theme. It may have been made as a wedding gift. Cut cameo glass, h. 24 cm. diam. 17.7 cm. Inv. GR 1945.9-27.1 (Gems 4036).
