Adding pictures to posts or pages makes the content look more interesting and informative.
Here is how it’s done:
1. Featured Image
When you see pictures attached to a post, on the main page of the web site, they are Featured Images
You add Featured images by clicking on Set featured image on the left hand side of your editing screen
This takes you to the Media Library. You can select an image that has been uploaded previously, or find the picture you want to use on your computer and drag it and drop it on the Media Library screen:
Click on Set featured image to insert the picture in your post
This will return you to the editing screen, with a preview of the Featured image in the box at the bottom left of your screen
If you save your post now and select View Page at the top of your screen, you will be able to see your text and the Featured Image.
2. Click on Edit Post (or Page) to carry on editing and to add pictures within the body of your post or page.
Position your cursor where you want to insert a picture, then click on the box Add Media above the editing area
This will take you to the Insert Media screen. The procedure to upload a picture is exactly the same as outlined above, except that, once you have selected or uploaded a picture, you will have the option to click on Insert into page
You can insert as many pictures as required, then publish or update your post/page to complete the process and publish your page/post.
