On Friday morning the 13th January men from Teulada Ayuntiamento installed this cast iron bench in the park at Moraira. It has been provided by members of our U3A in memory of one of the founder members, Shirley Baehr.
Shirley, who sadly and very unexpectedly died in February 2016, was one of the most enthusiastic of our members having served on the Committee and as the Groups Coordinator from when Moraira-Teulada U3A was first formed.
The bench has been placed near to the Olive tree which was planted in memory of past Vice President Pamela Kershaw who organised the first meeting to form our U3A.
The bench overlooks one of the Petanque playing areas and faces towards the sea.
A gathering at the bench to remember Shirley Baehr will be organised at 15:00 on Saturday 11th February – all our U3A members will be welcome to attend. |
