Corcovo – April 2019

“Down the Hatch” with members of Moraira U3A Wine Group

Eighty members of the Moraira-Teulada wine group enjoyed an evening’s wine tasting with six wonderful wines offered by Bodegas J.A. Megia y Hijos who produce the very popular Corcovo range of wines.

The first wine offered was a Verdejo white which gained universal approval from all those tasting.

This was followed by another excellent white Moscatel, a Rosado and three very enjoyable reds which included a lovely 2014 Reserva.

The members were entertained, as well as being instructed, on the different grape varieties by one of the directors of the wine company, Domingo Megia, who was very ably assisted by Franco Valori – a well-known expert in wines from the Valdepeñas area in the centre of Spain.

The evening was organised by Pat & Brian Clarke who have very ably run the U3A Wine Tasting Group for a number of years – much to the delight of its members!
