This page of cultural arts events has been researched and compiled by Angela Chantry.

Events which are U3A trips are listed first and are bookable through Angela.  Events which are not U3A trips appear at the bottom of the list and are presented for your information for you to book privately if you are interested.

Occasionally concerts are offered at short notice, sometimes with a special discount. If you would like to be kept informed of such events, please email Angela asking for your name to be added to the Cultural Arts contact list.

There are no events at present being organised by Angela.
Summer is rather a quiet time.

Flamenco Concert

Saturday 14th August

The next event in the 2010 series of Concerts at l'Albarda in the La Sella Urbanisation will be a Flamenco Concert on Saturday 14th August starting at 20:00 hrs. Gates will be open at 19:30 hrs.

The Musicians will be the group EL Hechizo, who will be performing Sevillanas, rumba and flamenco.  Liquid refreshments will be provided at the end of the performance.

Tickets are 10 euros for Fundem members and 12 euros for non-members.  To reserve your tickets please email Paul Pruden at xabia.forall@yahoo.es.  Payment will be collected at the gate.  Your reservation will be confirmed and details of how to get to l'Albarda sent by return.

Cameo Oscars

Saturday 18th September

A second opportunity to see the sparkling summer show by The Cameo Entertainers: "Cameo Oscars", which features songs and dance from Oscar-winning films. The show will take place at La Piscina Restaurant, Parcent, and the price of 16 euros includes a 3 course menu, with wine. Meal served from 12 p.m. with the show following at 3.00 p.m. Pre-book with the Box Office on 96 573 0440, and pay at the door.

Palma Concerts programme of events

The above (moving clip art) is a link to Lutz Kowalewsky's Palma Concerts website. These concerts bring internationally acclaimed artists to very local venues and are of a high standard. The concerts are predominantly classical and occasionally jazz.

[Webmaster's note:   Sadly, Lutz died on 19 May 2010 after a six week battle with cancer. I understand that his wife Jan is continuing to arrange concerts.]

U3A members are offered a special discount:

• Tickets for all concerts priced at 20 euros - if purchased in advance will be 18 euros for U3A members.
  
• A "book" of 10 tickets normally priced at 180 euros - available for 150 euros to U3A members (can be used by one person for 10 concerts, a couple for 5 concerts, etc.)
  
• Tickets not purchased in advance are normally 25 euros at the door - these will be 20 euros for U3A members

As well as by telephone and online, tickets can now be purchased direct from:   The Cornish Pastry Shop on the Moraira-Calpe Road (opposite Pollo Loco on the Pepe La Sal side).
