Dining Out at Chillers – October 2019

A balmy evening on 1st October saw the U3A Moraira-Teulada Dining Out group enjoy eating outside together for probably the last time this year.

Chillers in Moraira was the venue for the evening, a first for the group and indeed for most of the diners. It was clearly a success as no one was in a hurry to leave and stayed on chatting well after the plates were cleared away.

A menu a little different from the norm provided a meal inspired by Latin America.

After a welcoming glass of Cava or beer it was on to the starters – a choice of coconut and chickpea fritters with red onion and lemon dressing, crispy chicken salad bowl with red onion and jalapeno dressing and crispy white fish tostaditas with a chilly and lime salad.  This diner can confirm the fish was just perfect.

Main courses  offered were classic Cuban Ropa Vieja – a shredded beef dish, a vegetarian version, salmon or Havana chicken burger.

The Meal was rounded off with chocolate and caramel mousse, lemon sorbet, caramel nougat sundae or tea/coffee.

Feedback suggested everyone enjoyed the night and great service from lovely staff. Hosts for the night, Pat and Brian Clarke, are due back with a second group of 34 diners soon.

Our thanks to Ian Graham for the review and to John Snell for the photos.
