 There are three terms:
  • 19th September to 9th December
  • 9th January to 30th March
  • 16th April to 29th June


 



    Enrolment

Enrolment for all classes with Carmen and Laura will be only through Linda West (click on her photo above to email her), and it is also essential to let her know if you have any problems attending the course.

Please give your U3A number when enrolling.

Late bookings will also be through the coordinators - not through the teachers.


    Cost

There is no charge for Sheila Shipside's Saturday conversation group meetings. Carmen's conversation classes are pay as you go, €4 per session, in the bar at Los Leones, Sol Park. All the other classes are of one and a quarter, or one and half, hours duration and each lesson will cost €4. Payment for the whole month will be required at the beginning of the month. (If you are away then the following week.)


    Venues

The venue for the Beginners Conversation classes is Bar Med, Teulada. Contact Pauline directly from her group web page to book a place or by clicking here

The Intermediate/Advanced Conversation group venue is Bar El Andaluz, Ceramics Corner, Moraira-Benitachell Road. Contact Sheila directly from her group web page or by clicking here

The venue for the other more formal grammar classes is Los Leones at Sol Park in the room on the right before entering the restaurant just off of the terrace.



 


The following is a guideline to the courses.   However the teacher will adapt to the level and wishes of each class to make it interesting and informative and give you what you need.



Beginners

 From the basics, the course will cover the alphabet; pronunciation; present tense verb endings; masculine, feminine, singular and plural cases; ser and estar etc; and time, days, numbers, directions etc. The course will give you confidence with basic Spanish.

The Beginners 1 class is for complete beginners.		 Beginners 1:
Mondays 10.45 am - 12.00 pm

Mondays 12.15 pm - 1.30 pm

Post-beginners

 For this course you should have covered everything in the beginners' course including tener, querer, and gustar and the course will progress you towards intermediate. The course will give you the chance to practise what you have already learned and will build your confidence in speaking and understanding Spanish. Wednesdays 9.45 am - 11.00 am

Wednesdays 2.00 pm - 3.15 pm

Pre-intermediate

 You should already have covered everything in the previous courses. This course will cover future, simple past, present perfect (have walked) tenses, irregular verbs in the present tense, reflexive verbs, personal pronouns. Wednesdays 3.30 pm - 4.45 pm

Wednesdays 5.00 pm - 6.15 pm

Intermediate

 You should already have covered everything in the previous courses. This course will cover the present subjunctive and the conditional. Tuesdays 4.00 pm - 5.15 pm

(polish up your Spanish)

 This is for advanced speakers who want to have the benefit of a teacher present to polish up their advanced Spanish through discussion. Advanced 2:

Conversation
Beginners

 Beginners/Post-Beginners conversation class in the presence of a teacher.

 Intermediate - advanced. This group is for members who are happy to have an unsupervised Spanish conversation.
