Las Chicas revisited Vall de Cavall for their final meeting before the summer break. This restaurant is situated in the campo near Gata and is part of a complex which includes riding stables in picturesque surroundings, and is owned by the same people as the popular Masena restaurant.
We started with a cava aperitif, some ladies staying in the cool bar, some drifting outside onto the terrace. Then we found our designated tables, outside in the shade and the breeze. After starters chosen from avocado salad, soup or pate, we moved on to our main course. The lamb chops were succulent and beautifully arranged in a wheel, the fish was on a bed of vegetables and the duck on a cushion of risotto, all very tasty and well presented, and everybody said they were pleased with their choice. Desserts were either ice cream, mousse, or ‘tart of the day’, which caused a certain amount of amusement but tasted good.
As always we are grateful to the organising team, but particularly Lynn at the moment going through a difficult time yet still coming up trumps. Thank you.
