Moraira-Teulada U3A held a very successful Autumn Fayre at the Inn on the Green, Javea on Wednesday 2nd October.
Eileen Haxon organised the event – twice – as it had to be cancelled on the original date due to the bad weather.
More than 300 members and friends attended the event and an amazing and fabulous amount of 1,800 euros was raised on the day!
A big thank you to all who attended and particularly to those who manned the various stalls.
All the proceeds from the Fayre are to be donated to the Alzheimer’s Day Centre at Teulada.
President David Haxon welcomed everyone to the event and introduced Sylvia Tatnell, president of the Alzheimer’s` Day Centre to open the fayre.
Sylvia, who is holder of the British Empire Medal, thanked the U3A for holding the fayre on their behalf.
She said that the monies donated would enable the Centre to increase and improve the facilities available to assist the dementia sufferers.
Thanks were expressed to all the stall holders, helpers and people who donated items and also to the staff at the Inn on the Green.
