Moraira WF hosted visiting U.K. team , Manchester Corinthians and Spanish based teams , SAN Miguel Strollers, Formentera, Monte Mentals and two home teams Moraira A and Moraira B . Each team played one another on a League basis , with the top two competing in a one off final for the trophy . The Corinthians, staying In Benidorm and enjoying what the resort had to offer , probably didn’t have the best preparation! Travelling with a big reputation, they finished 2nd bottom . The top two positions were mainly contested by 3 teams : Moraira A and B and Formentera. Despite having the best defensive record Moraira B lost out to Formentera for second position , with Moraira A comfortable league leaders . Moraira A continued their impressive league results , with an assured final performance , beating Formentera 1-0 . The winning team ; Dave Kelly ( Capt ) , Colin Shelton , Alan Gibbs , Malcolm Legg , Andy Done , Ian Moffatt, Andy Alderton ( top scorer ) Gary Rogan . Special mention for the Moraira WF Lady members who hosted the event and made our guests warmly welcome . Thanks to Lynne Clark , U3A Group Coordinator who presented the winning trophy .
