November 2009 - trip led by Jan Adams
Jan writes:The trip to Madrid was thoroughly enjoyed by 42 participants. We visited a very old fashioned bodega on the way to get us into the right spirit (?) and saw the windmills of Don Quixote as well as lots of very much bigger and futuristic looking ones. |

| The hotel in Madrid was ten minutes walking from Plaza Major, nice and central, efficient, and had excellent food, which re-fuelled everybody very well after each full day of visiting museums, palaces, shops etc. |

On our last day we visited Toledo, the very picturesque old capital, which many of the group really liked and thought worth a more extended visit some time.
The weather was kind to us until on the journey back, but hey, who cares looking at rain in the dark from a cosy coach! |
