The Javea Players’ Summer Show/Dinner

July 2-7 at 7pm in Plaza Baix, Javea Old Town

The very popular Summer Al Fresco Tapas Dinner & Show is different again this year- a new director, a unique and very amusing play and, during dinner, ‘live’ music from Roger Brown.

Dinner at Bar Imperial in the atmospheric Plaza Baix, Javea Old Town at 7 pm. Menu:

Salad, extensive tapas with vegetarian option, dessert, ½ bottle of wine (Tinto de Rioja or Blanco de Rueda or, Rosado de Navarra) or beer or soft drink, pan & alioli

Followed by the performance in the Casa de Cultura a few steps away from:

Poor Yorick

Written & Directed by Javea Players Member, Phil Mansell.

A fresh take on ‘Hamlet’ with Yorick, the court jester, taking centre stage. After he flops trying to pioneer stand-up comedy to an audience of peasants, Yorick is persuaded by his tavern wench girlfriend Bess to return to Elsinore and get his old job back. But things have changed and our hapless hero becomes embroiled in Hamlet’s plans for revenge. A play packed with comedy, bawdy drama – and exploding medieval whoopee cushions.
