Day 1 Saturday 16th May


There will be an afternoon bus transfer from Moraira to Alicante Airport for our Air Berlin flight to Munich. After arriving in Munich, there will be a bus transfer to our hotel in Salzburg for a two night stay.

Day 2 Monday 18th MayAUSTRIA - Salzburg


There will be a guided tour of Salzburg in the morning with free time to continue your exploration of the city in the afternoon.



Day 3 Tuesday 19th MayMelk

We depart from Salzburg to Melk for a visit to its famous Benedictine Abbey.







We then join our boat for a cruise along the River Danube to ….






…. Durnstein…..






….and Krems. We then continue by bus to our hotel in Vienna for a four night stay.





Day 4 Wednesday 20th May


We will spend the full day on a guided tour of Vienna.



Day 5 Thursday 21st May  –  Free day in Vienna



Day 6 Friday 22nd May

Our day begins with a journey through the Vienna Woods to Mayerling, the location of the death of Crown Prince Rudolf and his mistress.



Our journey continues with a visit to the spa town of Baden.







In the afternoon, we will enjoy a journey on the Semmering railway, the world’s first mountain railway, returning to Vienna on our bus.




Day 7 Saturday 23rd May

We travel to from Vienna to Budapest for a four night stay at our hotel.  In the afternoon, there will be a guided tour of the city.



Day 8 Sunday 24th MayEsztergom

We begin with the short journey to Esztergom and its basilica, Hungary’s largest church and the home of the largest altarpiece in the world.




We continue to the ancient city of Visegrad and its famous castle…





…and Szentendre with its well-preserved 17th century townscape.



Day 9 Monday 25th May  –  Free day in Budapest


Day 10 Tuesday 26th May


Our day begins with a visit to the medieval village of Holloko.





On our way back to Budapest, we will stop in Godollo for a visit to the Royal Palce, with its surface area second only to Versailles, and….





…the Horse Show at the Lazar Equestrian Park.






Day 11 Wednesday 27th May

We will have a brief visit to the Old Town of Bratislava en route to….



Lednice Valtice



….the park, gardens and chateaux of Lednice-Valtice.







We travel onward to our hotel in Brno for a two night stay.





Day 12 Thursday 28th May


Our first stop today will be in the town of Telc, which has a beautiful square and…

We continue with a visit to Trebic and its Jewish Quarter, the first Jewish monument outside Israel to be awarded World Heritage status.





Day 13 Friday 29th May


We will visit Kutna Hora, the city of silver, with its two beautiful cathedrals.  We then continue to Prague for a three night stay at our hotel.





Day 14 Saturday 30th May


Today, there will be a guided tour of Prague.



Day 15 Sunday 31st May  –  Free day in Prague


Day 16 Monday 1st June



Our day begins with a visit to the medieval city of Tabor






We then travel onward to our hotel in Ceske Budejovice for a two night stay.





Day 17 Tuesday 2nd June

We will visit  the village of Halosovice. The village has had the same number of buildings throughout its 800 year history.







We continue to Hluboka for a visit to its castle…





….and then to the spa town of Trebon, which is located in a wonderful landscape full of fishponds.




Day 18 Wednesday 3rd June

The day begins with a visit to Cesky Krumlov, a pearl of Renaissance architecture and the location of a recent Guiness advert. We then travel onward to our hotel in Salzburg for a two night stay.




Day 19 Thursday 4th June


We will spend today in the Salzkammergut, the beautiful Austrian Lakes region.





A particular highlight will be the boat trip and visit to the village of Hallstatt.





Day 20 Friday 5th JuneHerrenchiemsee


Our day begins with a visit to the Herrenchiemsee Palace, the fairytale palace built by Ludwig of Bavaria in emulation of Versailles.



Day 21 Saturday 6th June

We then continue to Munich Airport for our late afternoon flight to Alicante and our bus transfer back to Moraira.


The cost of the trip will be approximately €1600.

The single room supplement will be approximately €450.

These figures are based on quotes using 2014 prices.

The exact price of the trip cannot be determined until after the flight schedules and prices for 2015 and the hotel prices for 2015 become available later in the year.

The prices quoted are for a tour group of 50. There may need to be a small supplement if we receive fewer than 50 bookings.

To secure a place on this trip, please pay a deposit of €400

at the Travel Desk at the next general meeting.
