Date: Monday 30th November 2015 10:30

Location: Salón de Actos, Espai la Senieta, Moraira (next to the large free car park)

Subject: Life in Lycra on the Roads to Santiago de Compostela: History, Art, Architecture and Landscape

This is a memoir of more than 5,000 kilometres on a bicycle across Spain, France and Portugal, following the medieval pilgrim routes to what many believe are the remains of the apostle James, in Santiago de Compostela in Galicia. The lecture will outline the history of the pilgrimage and examine some of the historical figures, outdoor art and varied architecture encountered along the way. It is hoped that you will find it entertaining as well as interesting because it will also include some anecdotes, a few jokes and at least one surprise.
