Subject: Who Was Queen Sarah

Lecturer: Dee Craig

Queen Sarah was the name given to one Sarah Jennings. She must have been the most successful social climber not only in the 18thcentury but in history. She rose to fame as a close friend of the Princess Anne, later to become queen. She was vindictive towards anyone who crossed her path and fermented trouble in the royal family in order to get her way. Together with her husband whose successes in battle made him a national hero, they held power for years, until one day she went too far. There was someone else working away in the background who would slowly but surely take her place in the Queen’s affections.
