From the Costa Blanca Coast to the Camargue in France
Wednesday 20th – Sunday 31st May 2026
This 12-day tour includes visits to various cultural and historical sites in Spain and France. We will learn about the history of tiger nut cultivation, its growing methods, and the process of making artisanal horchata, followed by a tasting; visit the prestigious Caves Byrrh, to see how the vermouth aperitif is produced; and the Simón Coll factory, tasting chocolate with cava! There will be free time in Béziers, one of the oldest cities in France, where the Canal du Midi passes over the river Orb; also to explore Sète, one of the most beautiful fishing and trade ports in the Mediterranean, which is surrounded by the sea, canals and Thau Lake and nicknamed the “Venice of the Languedoc”; and Arles, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Our 3-night stay in the port of Sainte Marie la Mer coincides with the Gitan Pilgrimage, which turns this small sleepy seaside town into a noisy carnival with Gypsy music and dancing! A unique experience not found anywhere else. Perhaps the highlight of the tour may be the full day excursion to the Parc Naturel Regional de Camargue, including a boat trip and train ride to enable us to see the beautiful white horses, flamingoes, and bulls in their natural surroundings. Many other sights and visits are included during the tour.
