Last Meeting of the year

Over 40 members came along to Salon GL on Monday 1 December to enjoy hearing the Costa Blanca Male Voice Choir sing some lovely Christmas songs to start the season off in good style.

We all enjoyed a coffee and mince pie whilst completing a table quiz prepared by David and Eileen Haxon. They also collected gifts for the Make a Smile Christmas Bag appeal and donations.

A message from David and Eileen “We would like to thank all the U3A  members who gave such an excellent response to the `Make a Smile` bag appeal. The response was tremendous and will make such a difference to the 133 children in care in our area at Christmas time.

We would also like to thank the members who donated money to the appeal. A total amount of 155 euros was raised at the meeting.

Tony Grande, coordinator for ‘Make a Smile’, expressed his gratitude to the U3A members for their generosity and kindness to enable the children to have some enjoyment this Christmas.

A Big Thank you once more!

We also had a free bottle Tombola so many members went home with a bottle of something!
