On 12th March, 58 members of the wine group gathered at Hill Top to enjoy the first wine tasting event of 2026.
Marta from Bodegas Bleda in Jumilla presented a selection of five excellent wines.
The tasting featured:
- Castillo de Jumilla Blanco (2025) – A fresh blend of Macabeo and Sauvignon Blanc (12.5%), ideal for pairing with salads, light meats, and all types of fish and seafood.
- Pinot Doncel Sauvignon Blanc (2025) – A crisp 100% Sauvignon Blanc (13%), perfect alongside sushi, seafood, fish, rice dishes, and salads.
- Castillo de Jumilla Rosado (2025) – A vibrant 100% Monastrell rosé (13%), well suited to appetisers, mild cheeses, fish, seafood, and light meats.
- Castillo de Jumilla Monastrell-Tempranillo (2025) – A fuller-bodied blend (14.5%) that pairs beautifully with grilled and chargrilled meats, stews, rice dishes, aged cheeses, pâtés, and cured meats.
- Pino Doncel Black (2024) – A versatile blend of Monastrell, Syrah, and Petit Verdot (14.5%), complementing a wide range of foods including meats, cheeses, pizza, pasta, barbecue, fish, and salads.
It was a thoroughly enjoyable evening, and the vast majority of attendees took advantage of the special discounted prices to stock up their cellars for the spring and summer months.
Many thanks, as always, to Dina for the photos.
