On May 19th, the Dining Out group held the last of their dining events before the summer break at the Soho restaurant in Moraira. This was the first time that the group had dined at Soho as the restaurant opened only a few months ago. It is run by 2 brothers, chef Love and Gur, who manages the front of house. Love has previously worked as a chef at the Olive Tree restaurant so was familiar with the quality of food and service that the group expects at our events.
Fifty four diners enjoyed an excellent meal. After warm bread and aioli, a selection of 4 starter: soup, and delicious caesar salad, ham croquettes, or pork satay was followed by a choice of 4 main courses: chicken breast, salmon fillet or 2 pork dishes. All were accompanied by different very tasty sauces. We all enjoyed a chocolate brownie, tiramisu or ice cream to finish off.
We want to give particular thanks to Chris and John Prescott, who were hosting a Dining Out event for the first time. The feedback from the diners was that this was a very successful evening. The food was very well cooked, and the service was excellent too. It is not easy for a restaurant kitchen to efficiently serve different menu choices to 9 tables of 6 people consecutively, but the staff at Soho did this very well indeed. They have already gained a reputation for providing good quality food at a very reasonable cost, and they certainly did that for us.
