25 September - The Arts Society Marina Alta: 3rd Arts Fair @ Salones acanor

The Arts Society Marina Alta:  Arts Fair September 25th 2019.

Salones Canor Teulada.

As the summer in the Marina Alta comes to an end, with the exhausting fiestas being concluded, there is one further event on the programme to make the holiday complete.

The Arts Fair Committee is very pleased to announce the date for the 3rd Marina Alta Arts Society Arts Fair.  This thrilling event is to be held on the 25th September 2019 as usual at Salones Canor Teulada. Doors will open at 10:00am and final viewing will close at 4:00pm.  As always entry is free to all as is the extensive parking adjacent the venue.

Salones Canor is a very visitor friendly location, although dogs are not allowed in the main exhibition hall for this event. This year we have more than 45 Marina Alta artists exhibiting together with artwork from the students of Xabia International College and Lady Elizebeth School in Javea. Also, the Alcaldes of the Marina Alta area have been invited to the opening of the exhibition.

To assist our visitors in enjoying the day a full list of beverages will be available from the bar, together with a selection of tasty tapas & sandwiches made on the day.  There is plenty of outside seating areas to rest and enjoy you food, and toilet facilities are provided off the main hall.

CCB are proud to announce

“CURTIS on TOUR 2019”
the 7th return to Teulada of the world famous

Curtis Institute of Music (Philadelphia)

7th Teulada visit

The world’s No.1 MUSIC conservatoire

Curtis on Tour is the global touring initiative of the Curtis Institute of Music.
An embodiment of the school’s “learn by doing” philosophy, it offers students real–world, professional touring experience alongside celebrated alumni and faculty. In addition to performances, students frequently offer master classes, in-school demonstrations, and other community engagement activities. Since Curtis on Tour was established in 2008, students, faculty, and alumni have travelled to more than 50 destinations in Europe, Asia, and North & South America – new venues added each year.

Each year 175 students come to Curtis – probably the world’s finest music academy – drawn by a tuition-free, performance-inspired learning culture.  In this intimate environment, they are nurtured by a celebrity faculty and inspired by the school’s distinctive learn by doing approach.

The Curtis, under their highly esteemed director Roberto Diaz, offer more than 200 concerts each year in Philadelphia, as well as  performances around the world through Curtis on Tour.

We are deeply honoured, here on the Costa Blanca, to welcome them again as they present the next generation of great musicians with their 7th visit (to us) of their now famous “Curtis on Tour“.

CANTORES SANCTIS DIEBUS

COSTA BLANCA TOUR – SEPTEMBER 2019

This Salisbury-based Chamber Choir, founded over forty years ago, is happy to announce its seventeenth tour of the area. It specialises in English and Spanish music of the Golden Age – el Siglo de Oro – by composers such as Tallis and Byrd, Victoria and Guerrero, under the direction of Nicholas Hale. The singers perform in aid of local charities in some of the area’s most favourable acoustics. Each concert contains about an hour’s music; this year our focus is Michaelmas. Entry is free, with a retiring collection. The programme is as follows:

Friday 27th September, 17:30, Chapel of Fontilles Sanatorio, Val de Laguart, in aid of the work of Fontilles and the worldwide campaign against leprosy. The grounds of the Sanatorio are perfect for a picnic supper after the concert. You could then go on to the first of this year’s Organ Concerts in Pedreguer at 20:30.

Saturday 28th September, 17:00, Loreto Church, Jávea Port, (the fishermen’s church) in aid of Cáritas.

Sunday 29th September, 09:45, Ermita del Popul, Carretera Jesus Pobre 4 km, Mass for the Anglican Chaplaincy, celebrating St Michael and all Angels.
