March 2026 – Dining Out group meet at the Al Mar restaurant in Moraira
The Dining Out group met on 24th March at the Al Mar restaurant in Moraira, and 65 diners gathered for a very enjoyable evening of conversation and good food.
Luis and his team had a very busy evening, and his kitchen produced an excellent meal for us.
He produced a varied menu with plenty to choose from. After eating a soft warm roll with aioli and tomato many chose the very tasty lobster bisque to start, but fresh oysters, avocado salad, a lovely pâté, or the black angus carpaccio were also on the list.
After a pause the main dishes of the evening arrived. At our table the sea bass was favourite, but other popular options were a delicious duck magret or entrecote steak, every one cooked to order. If those didn’t fit the bill, chicken with a mushroom sauce or a vegetable paella completed the choices. What was consistent was that the standard of cooking and presentation was excellent for each and every dish. The final course was a choice of crème brulée, tiramisu, a blackberry panacotta or coffee.
Many thanks go to our hosts Aileen and Brian Malone who organised a very successful evening for us, and of course to Luis and his staff who produced and served a delightful meal with enough choices to please every palate.
