For our first event of the year we went to Restaurante El Campo, Javea for lunch and what a fabulous time we all had!
The grey, cloudy skies and rain didn’t put anyone off and the glass roof made it feel as though we were in sunshine!
There were 53 diners, all enjoying a three course lunch with a starter of 3 elements: Cream of mushroom soup with tarragon and croutons, Brioche with salmon gravlax and crème fraiche, Arugula salad with blue cheese, pear and caramelized walnuts all served on a platter to each diner.
Main courses were a choice of Chicken stroganoff with bacon and leeks, served with rice or Salmon fillet with dill and “caviar” served with mashed potatoes, or Vegetarian lasagne with pumpkin, spinach and roasted peppers.
Desserts were a choice of Baked apple tatin with cinnamon ice cream, or Cheesecake.
Drinks were your choice from wine, beer or soft drink using one of the 4 tokens included with water, bread and alioli on the table.
Everything was beautifully cooked and presented by the very efficient and friendly staff.
Judging by the chatter and smiling faces around the room plus the many compliments on the food and service it was clear that a very good time was had by all and that this restaurant is one to add to everyone’s list of places to dine!
