Dining Out – September – Victoria Station
The Dining Out group held their first event after the summer break on the 23rd September, with a lunch held at the Victoria Station restaurant in Parcent.
The combination of cooler weather (at last!), people returning to Moraira after holidays or swallows settling in for a few weeks or months, and an excellent menu at a very reasonable price enticed 63 diners to a very convivial gathering.
The high number of diners meant that the lunch had to be held in the outside courtyard, so our fingers were firmly crossed that the forecast showers would land somewhere else. It worked!
The restaurant provided an excellent meal with a selection of canapes, and generous portions of a wide and imaginative selection of starters, main courses, and desserts, plus the usual choice of a half bottle of wine, beers or soft drinks. For example, your scribe enjoyed a hearty Thai fishcake with salmon and prawns, followed by haddock with garlic butter and steamed vegetables, finishing with a white chocolate and raspberry cheesecake. Delicious! There were lots of smiley faces at each of the 9 tables.
Congratulations go to the hosts, Hilary and Stewart Wass, for organising such a successful lunchtime event, and many Dining Out group members enjoyed meeting up again after the summer break.
