The Attico restaurant at Javea Port is always a popular venue and 52 members of the Dining Out group enjoyed an excellent meal there high up on the 6th floor. Our dinner was just days after Valentines Day, and the room was still festooned with big red hearts suspended from the ceiling.
The meal was big hearted too! After enjoying 3 delicious starters, comprising a smoked salmon, cod and feta cheese salad, a pork tenderloin and chorizo skewer and a Flamenquín of goat’s cheese, spinach and walnuts, a very tasty raspberry and red berry sorbet was served. A pause was definitely required before the main course. Choices of sea bass, salmon, beef cheek and chicken were all popular, but the winning choice was a delicious leg of lamb that was a challenge for the biggest of appetites. The lemon ice cream that accompanied the fresh fruit salad was sublime but, since it was pancake day, the chocolate crepe and ice cream was also a winner. Coffee was served to round off a delightful evening. Many thanks go to Louisa and her team of 4 people in the kitchen and 3 ladies to serve us. All the food was beautifully cooked and presented, and it was evident from the comments of diners that this was a very successful and enjoyable event. Unfortunately, not everyone can be seated where they can enjoy the spectacular view down the Javea coast, but many lingered to take it in before farewells were made. The evening was hosted by John and Meri Snell, with thanks going to Jan Adams for the photos.
