Help of Marina Alta

Candy Wright MBE, President of HELP, gave a very informative talk at the General Meeting on 6 October about the services her organisation provides to everyone in the 33 towns of the Marina Alta of which Moraira-Teulada and surrounding towns are part.

Candy highlighted the benefits of installing the Health Service Apps on smart phones as a means of finding out what is happening whilst waiting for treatment and about forthcoming appointments. These Apps also serve to facilitate contact with the Hospital and using WhatsApp messages which can be sent in English. If all else fails, then calling the HELP team will put members in touch with someone who can make enquiries on their behalf.

These apps are MOSTRADOR & GVASalut and they can be found in Google Playstore or Apple Appstore

The Helpdesk in Denia Hospital is open 9am to 1pm for phone calls and interpreters (by appointment).

Contact details are HERE

Candy also reminded all UK Citizens, that entitlement to Attendance Allowance applies even for residents in Spain and that claiming for this should not be overlooked when care is needed for a partner or friend.

HELP have team members who can assist with completing the application form. They can also assist by contacting Social Services about available local help and claiming for care costs paid directly that would otherwise be covered under the system here and to which all (properly documented) residents  are entitled.
