At last 34 Chica’s finally had their wish for the first time this year and enjoyed their lunch al fresco!
Under a stunning blue sky, Benjamin and his team welcomed us with cava and canapés before we were seated under the shade of the fig tree (and lots of parasols) in the interesting garden of Le Gourmand, situated on the Jesus Pobre road leading out of Javea. This was a little off the beaten track for our Moraira Chica’s but all agreed it was worth the journey to experience this hidden gem of a restaurant.
The food served was all declared as excellent with a choice of fish served en papillote with rice; pork with noodles or lamb with vegetables. Most Chica’s had chosen the home made quiche as a starter, filling but delicious! Dessert was a choice of apple tart; cheese; sorbet or homemade chocolate mousse (divine!)
The service was excellent even though the restaurant was not exclusive to us Chica’s, the wine was free flowing and Benjamin even included coffee on the house.
We were pleased to learn that three of our Norwegian Chica’s had chosen to celebrate their National Day with us and a glass was raised to congratulate them.
Many Chica’s expressed they would be returning again with family or friends and I am sure this will be a returner for the group in the future.
