May 2019 Dining Out meet at La Redonda 2 restaurant, Javea,

This month for a nice change the venue was a really traditional Spanish restaurant on the road between Benitachell and Javea called La Redonda2.   Although there are other Spanish restaurants in Moraira maybe they cater specifically for the expats and tourists but “Redonda Dos” is much more a local destination.   However, our hosts provided a helpful English translation of the menu choices if needed

We were greeted with cava on the large terrace and warmly welcomed by the owner Pepe, his wife Rosa and their son Joseph.  The family have been running this restaurant with attractive indoor and outdoor seating for the past 30 years.  They worked jolly hard to keep us all fed and watered with a good selection of local fare, generous salads, fresh tomato soup, two fish choices, ribs, pasta and the knock out favourite, their slow cooked lamb which was succulent.  All washed down with plenty of wine and accompaniments and a selection of Spanish deserts and coffee.

A good time was had by all judging by the noise!   It was fun meeting up with old and new friends and around 70 members attended over the two nights.   Many thanks must go to our host organisers Peter and Pauline Griffiths for arranging these evenings and for their always smiling teamwork.
