Spicy Dining Group

Over forty members of the Moraira Teulada U3A Spicy Dining Group met at the Olive Tree on Sunday the 27th for a wonderful dinner and get together. The restaurant had prepared a special menu of spicy food and closed the doors to all other guests.

After the welcome drink everyone sat at their tables meeting old friends and making new ones as the wine and the starters arrived. As with all the dining out groups the menu had been circulated prior to the event and every dinner made their own choice from Chilli Garlic Prawns, Tandoori Chicken Kebabs, Pulled pork pil-pil and Burrata and tomato carpaccio.

After everyone had enjoyed their spicy starter pallet cleansing sorbet was served before the main event of the evening, Thai green curry, either chicken or vegetable, Pork belly with spicy tamarind, Iberian pork cheeks in chipotle sauce, Baked salmon with minced garlic and chilli, and for those who wanted something not spicy Baked salmon with sundried tomato and herb sauce.

The Olive Tree did an outstanding job with the food and the service and the group was then served sweet with a choice of Lemon and passion fruit posset, White chocolate cheesecake or Sticky toffee pudding. It is fair to say that no-one went home hungry.

The group meets five times a year at a variety of restaurants across Moraira and Javea on the evening of the last Sunday of the month.
