The Travel Group led by Anne Cattle and Carol Mantle once again organised a wonderful day coach trip to places of interest, this time the villages of Albaida and Bocairent which are inland from Gandía and close to the textile industry town of Ontinyent with part of the route winding through scenery reminiscent of the Cheddar Gorge.
The first stop was at the quite amazing Puppet Museum at Albaida where we saw a remarkable collection of puppets from many countries and areas of the world.
We then travelled on past Ontinyent to the wonderful village of Bocairent which is a little undiscovered gem that is nestled in the Sierra Mariola Mountains.
We followed a tour guide on a reasonably gentle walk through the village visiting places of interest then had a leisurely lunch at the Hotel L’Estacio.
We then returned to the village to view the oldest bullring in the Valencia region followed by a tired but content coach journey back to Teulada.
