U3A Charity of the Year

On Monday 1 Dec at our last meeting we were pleased to welcome Arne Soeten and Richard Saville from Project4All to receive a cheque for the amount of 1.778€ so generously donated throughout the year by our members.

We mainly raise money through the Charity Quizzes organised by Eileen and David Haxon but also from the sale of goods by the Knit and Natter Group and other events throughout the year.

Project4All helps homeless people throughout our area, providing hot meals everyday to over 50 people who are sleeping rough. They also have a house where they help to rehabilitate men and women by getting them work and providing a place to stay so they can resume a stable life.

They thanked the U3A Moraira-Teulada members for their generosity this year and asked that if anyone wished to continue supporting them there is scope to set up a regular monthly amount through their website. These regular sums allow them to manage what they do better.
