By popular request we made a second visit to Restaurante con 14th May. Sandra had drawn up a really nice Menu for us and we quickly had 57 diners signed up to join us for the evening.

Such was the keenness of those booked that the first guests arrived before 7pm for a “7.15 for 7.30 start” – well some folk were unsure how long it would take them to find us . . . . . . . Luckily it was a glorious evening and so Diners were able to purchase a drink and take it out onto the terrace to enjoy the views in the sunshine whilst Colin & I put the finishing touches to the table allocations.

Sadly Sandra could not be overseeing things on this occasion but Bibiana and the rest of the staff looked after us well and soon we were tucking into the most delicious and attractive Gourmet Salad, an unusual combination of Pineapple Carpaccio with King Prawns – which really went well together – or Ham Croquettes. This was followed by Braised Chicken Breast in a Roquefort Sauce, Pork Fillet with Tamarind Sauce or Grilled Salmon with Fine Herbs and a Vegetable Lasagne for our Vegetarian Diner. For Dessert we were tempted with Apple Tart and Ice Cream, Cheesecake with Red Fruit or Mandarin Sorbet with Fruit. Every dish was attractively displayed and served by the helpful, smiling staff for whom nothing was too much trouble.

As the evening progressed, and people chatted with friends old and new, the room was buzzing with laughter and many were reluctant to depart for home having done the round of goodbyes.

The staff were asked to come out of the kitchen to be thanked by Host Colin and there were smiles all round as the Diners showed their appreciation. Jan Adams was also kind enough to say a few words of thanks to us Hosts for a job well done.
