As the New Year opens for the SupaUkes (Ukulele Group), we have some exciting plans for the next half year.
As well as our weekly sessions and, following on from our successful Bob Dylan themed session last year, we plan a Tin Pan Alley themed session at the end of January and a Beatles themed session scheduled for the end of March. Further themed sessions to come.
We love to entertain people. In the last 15 months we have performed at a fundraiser for the victims of the Dana floods, at a birthday party, and we also play regularly at the Take 5 Dementia respite club in Javea.
Some members also joined with The Ukaholics from the Denia U3A to play at Denia’s Nit de Llum just before Christmas.
We are happy to come along and play at events organised by groups or individuals and provide 30-45 minutes of fun and an opportunity for everyone to enjoy a singalong.
We supplement our regular weekly sessions with Skill Improvements to develop our playing abilities whether it be for Beginners, less experienced players and more advanced players.
Last year we played 40+ new songs, some of which have been added to our repertoire and this will be continued this year.
