Wine Tasting – February 2022

Sixty members of the Moraira-Teulada Wine Group enjoyed a very well attended meeting at a new venue, The Hill Top bar and restaurant in Moraira.

They were welcomed by Pat & Brian Clarke, the leaders of the wine group.

On this occasion, the wines were supplied by the Corcovo wine Company which was established in 1994 by Juan Antonio Megia and his family when they founded Bodega Megia e Hijos following their acquisition of one of the century old wineries in the town of Valdepeñas.

Corcovo is now this wineries main brand.

Members were entertained by two old friends from Corcovo, Domingo and Franco, who provided interesting presentations about each wine.

They brought a selection of six wonderful wines, starting with a very popular white Airén and two more excellent white wines – a Verdejo and the very popular Muscat Petit Grain.

They were followed by a very pleasant Rosada and finally two red wines, one a Roble and the other a very popular Crianza.

Both Domingo and Franco presented very interesting backgrounds and tasting information on each of the wines.

Members were very enthusiastic about the wines presented and Domingo and Franco drove home in a virtually empty van!
