For their final event before the summer break, 44 members of the U3A Moraira-Teulada Wine Tasting group met for a superb lunch at The Olive Tree restaurant in Moraira on 2nd July.
Members were treated to an excellent menu with a choice of starters including shrimp cocktail, chicken liver paté, burrata salad and spicy fish croquettes. Main course options featured Iberian pork tenderloin with mushroom sauce, cod fillet with alioli mousseline and ajoblanco sauce, chicken breast stuffed with leeks and Parmesan cheese, wrapped in Serrano ham, or a fragrant Thai green prawn curry. To round off the meal, diners chose from lemon and passion fruit posset, Malteser Magic (creamy vanilla ice cream with crunchy Maltesers and Baileys cream), chocolate brownie or a liqueur coffee.
The food was beautifully prepared and thoroughly enjoyed by everyone, complemented by the restaurant’s friendly, attentive and efficient service. It was a delightful afternoon of excellent food, good company and lively conversation, providing a fitting finale to the group’s activities before the summer break.
They enjoyed it so much that the group’s organisers, Pat & Brian Clarke, have already made a booking for the group’s December Christmas lunch.
