JESUS POBRE – Marriot to the Woods west of Jesus Pobre (Tue)

Walking Route	Distance : 4,1 km	Camis and tracks through the woods west of Jesus Pobre.
Terrain	Walking Surface	Tarmac minor roads, dirt paths, rough section through woods. (alternative easier route for some walkers).
	Ascent	Medium ascents and descents on tarmac. Short sections of rough ascents/descents in the woods.
Directions to Meeting Point	From Moraira: Take the road from to Benitachell . Turn right at the traffic lights and drive to Javea(CV740) to the Ferrobox roundabout(carretera gata crossing). Turn left here on the CV734 towards Gata; From Javea: Leave Jávea on the CV734 towards Gata.,going straight on at the Ferrobox roundabout All: Turn right at the FOURTH roundabout onto the CV738 towards Jesus Pobre. Go through Jesus Pobre and at the “T” junction turn left. After 1 km turn left into the Marriot Hotel/golf complex. Continue straight down to the bottom of the road and turn left at the junction. Go past the back of the hotel on your left and then turn right alongside the driving range. Go to the end and park.

Walk Description

1. Walk away from the driving range into the trees. The tarmac road narrows and ignore any side roads/paths.
2. On the left you reach a property with faded black iron railings, continue past these and round the left hand bend at the bottom of the hill.
3. Continue up this tarmac road (which steepens gradually) until reaching the road from Jesus Pobre. On the right is a house with painted fish on its wall.
4. Turn left towards Jesus Pobre. After 30m just past a house on the right, turn right down a steep hill recently
   tarmaced.
5. As the hill begins to level out there is a small casita on the left and a gravel track. Take this track.
   AT THIS POINT IF YOU ARE NOT THAT AGILE A WALK LEADER WILL TAKE YOU ON AN ALTERNATIVE ROUTE.
6. The track continues for 50m before turning right. It then reaches a clearing with a low stone wall and a higher
   wall above. Take the route up to the higher wall and turn sharp right.
7. This section of the walk is along a narrow track with rises and falls through the terraces. We have marked the
   route with blue spray paint.
8. After about 400m this narrow path meets a wider gravel path, turn slightly left along it and shortly the gravel
   path meets the road. At this point we meet the walkers who have taken the easier route, and we turn right along
   the road.
9. After passing the road on the left that goes under the railway turn right up the hill (ignore the road immediately
   right with the “No Horses sign).
10. The road is steepish uphill but at the first right-hand bend turn left down a narrow road going downhill past some houses. At the end of this road (a dead end), turn right along a narrow track along a terrace.
    
11. The track comes out on the road near where you started! Turn left.
12. Just after the right hand bend, with the faded black railings of the house on the right, go left over the chain and
    follow this path round the edge of the golf course, returning to the road 100m before the parking
