I have arranged a visit to Jardin de l’Albarda on Wednesday May 8th at 10.00 am. The guided tour in English, of the garden will last about two hours and will be followed by light refreshments.
In view of the short distance of the garden from Moraira, I suggest we travel by private cars and possibly lifts can be arranged for those who don’t drive. I have an excellent map showing various routes to the garden, supplied by a former member of the gardening group for our visit in 2017. Thank you Christina!
The Albarda gardens are administered by the Fundem organisation, whose purpose in this garden, is to conserve Mediterranean flora and fauna using sustainable methods with native plants. This means less water and chemicals are needed . The garden consists of formal and wilder areas as well as orchards containing There are over 700 native plants in the gardens, as well as, in the more formal areas, roses and palm trees, water courses and architecture which hark back to the Arabic influence in Valencian gardening.
The cost of the tour including light refreshments and tips is 17 euros per person.
