This group first met at the beginning of August 2011 and rapidly became very successful with a core of enthusiastic members now meeting for regular practice sessions.
Every alternate month, the group also presents a Music Night to entertain fellow U3A members.
The group welcomes anyone, no matter how accomplished (or not) a musician or singer (or poet, monologist, juggler, magician acrobat or whatever is entertaining).
We started with the expectation that we would attract solos - mainly those who pluck an old out-of-tune guitar and sing along out-of-tune with it, but it very quickly became obvious that we had some real musical talent in Moraira U3A and very soon a band was formed which now included keyboard, drums, harmonica, bass guitar, saxophone, rhythm guitar, lead guitar and a couple of blues singers. |
Any performers are very welcome whether they play the guitar, saxophone, mouthorgan, keyboard, comb and paper, spoons, electric organ, ukulele, flute, clarinet or any other musical instrument even including - occasionally, if they must - the didgeridoo!!
We also welcome anyone who performs in any way which would entertain an audience of fellow U3A members.
It cannot be emphasised too much that the most amateur performers can provide great fun and entertainment when amongst friends - and for those willing to have a go it's a great way of applying all of those hours you may have spent practising on your own but never dared to do so in public!!
Anyone interested in joining us for performance or attendance at a performance: please email me (by clicking on my photo at the top of this page).
