Love and Mosaics

How do you show love for a husband who is a BIG Elvis fan? Well, as his birthday is just a few weeks away, you make him an ┬┤Elvis┬┤ sign.  ÔÇťThank you very much, but I really was hoping for ………..ÔÇŁ.  So with much love and patience you start again. A whole year later he receives a mosaic portrait of Elvis.

Making a face from mosaic tiles is very difficult, to show the correct skin tones and create a likeness. But one in our mosaics group has done both very successfully! Now how could this face belong to anyone else?

We all love our pets, and one way to show the world that we love them is to make a mosaic of their portraits. Pets come in all shapes and sizes; so too do the mosaics. Have you ever seen this grey cat? Or this wonderful dog? (More hours of work to be done here.) We love our friends and make special mosaics for them. My sister has a passion for gardening, a friend loves butterflies, and robins and puffins are always favourites too.

This summer members of all three groups have been busy creating items to sell at the U3A Autumn Fayre in aid of the Alzheimer┬┤s Centre in Teulada. We are showing that we care. Do you like the trivets, plant pots and coasters?

So, if you receive a mosaic present I hope you realise that you really are very much loved!
